This upcoming Sunday I will launch the first video in my series, Soul Sesiones with Isla. Make sure to check it out on my Instagram, @IslaaMartinez

I have wanted to share my thoughts for awhile now and was inspired by different speakers, authors and public figures in the wellness space. The inspiration for Soul Sesiones with Isla was truly one that came from my heart, the most powerful part of every human soul. For now, you can expect new videos on Instagram every Sunday! Join me in lifting our souls higher, together.

You might be asking yourself, why Sunday?

Soul Sundays

Sundays are my favorite days, for many of reasons, but most importantly they are the day for the soul. Many of you might spend Sundays with your family and loved ones, some of you might spend your soul Sunday at church and I aspire to always leave Sundays for the soul.  Our hearts definitely need it.

I enjoy reading and learning more about love, our spirits and souls, especially on Sundays, even if it’s as few as 5 pages. Leaving Sundays for the soul really gives me so much life. After a long week we all deserve to sit down and reflect. My absolute favorite thing to do on a Sunday is reflect on my life, week and new goals.

So, I hope that you can all take a bit of info from me sharing my favorite takeaways on books that I am reading, quotes that I love and live by and other inspirational mantras that we can all apply to our everyday life. Whether it’s taking a longer Sunday walk in the morning, treating yourself to a latte or simply lighting a candle and reading a good book, remember to reserve some time for you on Sundays.

Welcome to Soul Sesiones with Isla.

I hope you can join me on Sundays and life your soul just a little bit higher every week. Let this be a space where you are present and open to new beginnings.

This week’s soul comes from one of my favorite books, The Power of Positive Energy, by Tanaaz Chubb. I read this book last year and still go back to it whenever I need a little inspiration throughout the day. Expect to receive a lot of self-love tips and everything you need to awaken your soul, raise your vibration and how to manifest an inspired life.

If you read the book, let me know what your thoughts are and if it helped you at all on your own personal journey. We’re all here to learn from each other, share your soul tips with me, I’d love to hear them.

See you this Sunday.

Xx, Isla

Hi there! I am 23, living my life and savoring every moment. My name is Isla Aimee Martinez and I am happy you are here.

To start off, I hope wherever you’re reading this you are drinking a nice cafesito or tea and are sitting in a place where you’re still and present. Think of this as a coffee date, you are learning about me and I hope to learn more about all of you.

Isla is Spanish for island, and to be frank, I sometimes feel like I am on an island surrounded with my thoughts, ideas, aspirations waiting to be lifted out of my soul.

As a little girl, I would carry a pen and book around with me, I don’t quite remember what I would write, but I knew that I liked writing. I still do.

Throughout my life I have let fear stop me from new experiences, but the time is now for me to start a new journey! I will share thoughts, tips and more on everything wellness. This space is one that I absolutely love and I hope you can visit IslaMartinez.com when you are in need of a little inspiration in your life.

More than anything I hope this blog serves as a space for you to share your thoughts with me. Tell me what motivates you, what inspires you, what keeps you going when you’ve had a rough day? Let’s share our ideas and learn from each other, together.

I am inspired by genuine, hardworking people that love what they do. Too many people now are doing things for social media and attention instead of focusing on their actual work and leaving a positive impact on the people around them. Yes, the power of the internet and social media is like no other, without it I would not be able to share this with you. That being said, the amount of likes and followers you have shouldn’t reflect how you see yourself, I’ve definitely had to remind myself this from time to time. I am excited to start this journey with you, your time is more than enough for me. In life and in work I am dedicated to learning, listening and remaining grateful through it all.

I am grateful for so many things in my life, one being my career. I previously worked as the Marketing and PR Coordinator at the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and allowed the opportunity for me to grow tremendously the past year and introduced me to a beautiful soul, my mentor, all of which I am incredibly grateful for.

Also, I traveled and and was the MC for HHF’s national events with the U.S. Army and the Marines. In traveling, I connected with students who were eager to learn and met leaders who have each inspired and motivated me to continue on my personal journey, in hopes of inspiring others.

To say that I am blessed is truly an understatement. Although I strongly believe that a job or career definitely doesn’t define me as a person, I do believe that one should always strive to do what they love. Igniting our passions and dreams are part of living our lives to the fullest and I never forget to remind myself that no dream is ever too big.

Through ups and downs, my family remains constant and I cherish my family with every fiber of my being. My mother is my inspiration, she always pushes me to be the best version of myself and to never forget the ever-lasting impact of first impressions. My father’s work ethic has inspired me to keep on, keeping on and my brother never fails to make me laugh, a reminder to never take myself too seriously.

All in all, I have just shared bits of my life with you, all things which make my soul flutter and my heart blossom. Time isn’t guaranteed and by being grateful and letting love into our lives, I believe with so many others that our truest selves and souls can be released into this world.

Gratitude –  the quality of being thankful, readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. Gratitude makes us happier, there are so many benefits of implementing gratitude into our lives. To start, gratitude makes us healthier and more motivated beings. Studies show that gratitude is strongly correlated with optimism, and who doesn’t want to be optimistic? Anyone I want in my inner circle should show signs of optimism and if I meet someone who isn’t, they’re truly missing the meaning of being grateful. I strive to be grateful every day by being positive because I want to live a long, healthy life.

I studied journalism in college and was always inspired by stories, our stories make every one of us unique and different. The stories that were the most beautiful though were those of ordinary people, who despite all odds were able to spread positivity and truly impact their community and those around them.

This year I told myself that I would start embracing myself and allow for my own personal story to shine. My dream is to inspire and motivate others, if I can leave a positive impact on just 5 people in my lifetime, that would be more than enough for me.

I am a simple girl, but my dreams are bigger than life. Love inspires me. Love is my motivation because we are better people when we lead our lives with love. I am so happy to start sharing my thoughts with you. Sending you lots of love in your vida, we’re just getting started.
