Girlboss Community IRL

The Girlboss Community is one that is empowering, motivating and soothing all at once. If you haven’t heard of the Girlboss Community yet, now is the perfect time to sign up and prepare to empower women from all over the world.

Earlier this month, Girboss hosted their first Community IRL Event at the Girlboss HQ in Los Angeles, CA. Girlboss CEO, Sophia Amoruso chatted with Clare Vivier, Designer and Founder of handbag company Clare V and sparked an important conversation on how we all can foster meaningful connections, the importance of mentorship and applying our learnings from our first “jobs” in our current career path and beyond.

Being a Girlboss Community Founding member is a top highlight of 2019 so far. This year has definitely been one of tremendous growth, personal progression and spiritual healing. One goal of mine this year was to radiate love in my mind, body and soul. This event gave me the opportunity to do that and more!

My favorite part of the night was meeting the ultimate Girlboss of all Girlbosses, Sophia Amoruso. Her presence this night brought success, light, humor, motivation and massive badass-ery. I remember reading her book #Girlboss my third year in college and I took away so many gems that ultimately pushed me to find my own unique drive to fuel my motivation .

A quote from her book you must write on a sticky note and keep by your passion planner is “A #Girlboss is someone who’s in charge of her own life. She gets what she wants because she works for it. As a #Girlboss, you take control and accept responsibility. You’re a fighter.”

I’ve connected with a few women in the Girlboss Community for a few months now and it made me so happy to put faces to many of their names and share a beautiful night together. I met one powerful chica, Founder of Thrive and Align, Fabiola Segovia, a life and leadership coach who helps burnt out executives/ leaders bring peace and balance into their lives. We had been chatting via the Girlboss Community and planning a coffee date for weeks and this event served as the perfect opportunity to meet each other for the first time.

Events can be pretty overwhelming for many of us, you don’t know what to expect, you question whether going alone is a good choice or a disaster in the making and planning an outfit takes more time than it should, but the growth that comes from getting out of your comfort zone? Priceless.

If you are thinking of attending an event soon for work or pleasure, take the leap and just do it. Be prepared with a few business cards, make sure your iPhone storage isn’t full for photos and videos (lol) and serve all the Girboss vibes! You deserve it.

We all come from beautiful backgrounds and have our own powerful and inspiring stories to share with others. Meeting and sharing these moments with each other in-person can bring us valuable learnings and memories that will last forever. How does that famous Maya Angelou quote go?

People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how made them feel.

That is the power of connection.

Congratulations to the Girlboss team for leading a killer, first, Girlboss Community IRL Event! Can’t wait for the Girlboss Rally next weekend, counting down the day till we all illuminate Girlboss vibes. xx

Remember this mantra for this week, “There are no limits to who I can become.”
